Job Description

Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment starting Jun 15, 2026. This role involves managing a patient volume of approximately 18, handling patient refills, and covering shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm. You will primarily focus on chronic disease management, annual wellness exams, mental health support, PrEP & PEP screening, and specialized care for trans or non-binary patients, including hormone initiation and monitoring.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a patient volume of approximately 18.
  • Maintain patient refills.
  • Provide care at the McDonald/Wright Building.
  • Manage chronic diseases including Hypertension, Type 2 Diabetes, and Asthma.
  • Conduct annual wellness exams, employment physicals, and follow-up visits for chronic labs.
  • Manage basic SSRI/SNRI titration for anxiety and depression, with referrals for specialized therapy as needed.
  • Perform PrEP & PEP screening for HIV/STI.
  • Initiate and maintain hormone therapy, specifically prescribing and adjusting Testosterone (IM/SubQ/Gel) or Estrogen + Anti-androgens (Spironolactone).
  • Monitor levels such as total/free Testosterone, Estradiol, CBC (for polycythemia in T patients), and BMP (for potassium in Spironolactone users).
