The Covid-19 pandemic caused the use of telehealth to suddenly and abruptly gain an immense amount of traction, and for good reason. During a time when every person and business was on lockdown, telehealth was a godsend within the healthcare and locum tenens spaces because it provided access to important healthcare services that wouldn’t have otherwise been available.
However, many forget that patients who are unable or struggle to access healthcare through traditional means have always existed, and telehealth has been around for these populations even prior to the pandemic. Now that we have come to realize telehealth’s benefits for patients and providers alike, including increased ease and accessibility, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the telehealth platform.
