Job Description

We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner licensed in California for a 260-day locum tenens assignment with our client. This opportunity starts on Nov 17, 2025, and features weekday day shifts, Monday through Friday, in an outpatient setting. Ideal candidates bring at least one year of hematology/oncology experience, but highly motivated NPs with a passion for the specialty will be considered.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, either 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Function independently in an outpatient setting as part of a team, providing comprehensive patient care
  • Manage both new patient consultations and follow-up appointments
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and symptom management
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in electronic medical records
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical judgment and strong problem-solving skills

Additional Information
  • At least one year of hematology/oncology experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be trained
  • Required: California NP license, current national board certification (AANP or ANCC), BLS certification, furnishing license, DEA license (to be obtained within 3 months of starting)
  • Advanced degree in nursing (Masters, DNP, or PhD) required
  • Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with patients and team members
