Job Description

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day assignment in California, starting Feb 9, 2026. This role involves a fast-paced, full-scope urgent care schedule, typically 9AM-9PM four days a week, focusing on diverse cases from general procedures to critical care workups with on-site CT, ultrasound, and lab capabilities.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • See cases and procedures in a full-scope, fast-paced urgent care environment.
  • Manage a very high acuity patient load, performing full workups for conditions such as chest pains, abdominal pains, sepsis, appendicitis, obstruction, diverticulitis, and dizziness or vertigo.
  • Conduct surgical workups, address early DKA, and rule out chest pains, interpreting EKGs and CXRs.
  • Understand the process of directly admitting patients to the hospital and sending patients directly to the operating room.
  • Perform troponin rule-outs and provide care for patients ranging from newborns (1-2 weeks old) to geriatrics, including RSV babies and general respiratory issues.
  • Manage MRI and ultrasound, and perform procedures like toenail removal.
  • Utilize all on-site lab capabilities, with results returning STAT within one hour.
