Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for our client in Wisconsin for a 120-day assignment starting Sep 28, 2026. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive perioperative care, including assisting surgeons in the operating room, performing saphenous vein harvesting, and managing pre- and post-operative patients in ICU and step-down settings, with daily rounding and continuous monitoring of clinical changes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide perioperative care for CV/CT surgery patients
• Assist the surgeon in the OR during complex procedures
• Perform/assist with saphenous vein harvesting (independent experience strongly preferred)
• Handle preop evaluations, consults, and postop management
• Round daily and monitor for clinical changes
• Manage postop patients in ICU/step-down settings
• Manage chest tubes, drains, lines, and wounds within scope
• Identify and escalate postop complications
