Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Needed in Wisconsin

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment in Wisconsin. This role involves 24-hour call positions starting as soon as credentialed, with the schedule varying based on provider needs. The chosen candidate will provide comprehensive perioperative care, assist surgeons in the operating room, manage post-operative patients, and perform saphenous vein harvesting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide perioperative care for CV/CT surgery patients
• Assist the surgeon in the OR during complex procedures
• Perform/assist with saphenous vein harvesting (independent experience strongly preferred)
• Handle preop evaluations, consults, and postop management
• Round daily and monitor for clinical changes
• Manage postop patients in ICU/step-down settings
• Manage chest tubes, drains, lines, and wounds within scope
• Identify and escalate postop complications
