We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for a 20-day assignment in Wisconsin. This position involves providing comprehensive bread and butter family practice care, including wellness exams, follow-ups, acute care, and minor surgical procedures. The schedule is Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Responsibilities and Duties
Performs annual wellness, follow-up, and acute exams.
Obtains, reviews, and updates patient EMR with health history, allergies, symptoms, medications, and immunization status.
Appropriately orders and/or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images.
Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examinations, diagnosing patient conditions and administering or prescribing treatment options.
Documents patient visits in the EMR, including medical history, exam, diagnosis, and plan of action.
Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule based on patient's condition and allergies.
Discusses possible side effects and/or alternative treatment options for medications or immunizations with patients.
Promotes patient health by advising about diet, exercise, hygiene, and disease prevention, including STIs.
Prescribes medication in accordance with WI statute and professional practice guidelines.
Performs minor surgical procedures.
Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered at the facility.
Reviews incoming reports and follows up in a timely manner.
Responds to patient messages and correspondence in a timely manner according to policies.
Works collaboratively with team members and providers to manage complex cases.
