Locum Tenens Physician - Family Practice Needed in AZ

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for a 60-day assignment in Arizona, starting Oct 12, 2026. The schedule involves working 8-hour days, 5 times per week. The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, while also supervising medical operations and staff to ensure quality care and compliance within a correctional facility environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive medical care, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, follow-up care, and surgery as needed.
• Lead and supervise medical operations and staff while ensuring quality, continuity, and compliance with facility standards.
• Monitor patient treatment plans, serious illnesses, hospitalizations, and overall healthcare needs.
• Maintain accurate, secure medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare accreditation requirements.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, facility administration, hospitals, and outside healthcare providers.
• Develop and implement medical policies, improve operational efficiency, and promote cost-effective healthcare services.
• Provide staff supervision, health education, counseling, and effective communication across the facility.
• Participate in on-call coverage, staff meetings, treatment teams, and professional development activities.
