Locum Tenens Physician - Hematologist/Oncologist Needed in VA

Job Description

Our client in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist for a 19-day assignment starting Sep 28, 2026. This role involves managing current treatment plans for adult patients, with a primary focus on hematology and some medical oncology cases. The schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and includes telephone-only call coverage every other week, which can be managed remotely.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage current treatment plans for adult patients.
• Primarily address hematology cases.
• Handle minor medical oncology cases.

Additional Information

• Required Board Certification: Hematology
• EMR System: Athenahealth
• Patients per day: 13-15
• Call Schedule: Telephone only, every other week, can be managed remotely and does not require returning to the hospital.
