Locum Tenens Physician - Hospitalist Needed in North Dakota

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Physician for an engaging 182-day assignment in North Dakota. Our client requires comprehensive 24/7 coverage, with physicians working 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM. This role involves admitting and coordinating all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, including performing history and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, facilitating consultations, and managing both routine and emergent inpatient conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Admit and coordinate all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients, including history and physical examinations
• Ensure appropriate patient placement within the hospital
• Provide evaluation and treatment, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies such as laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic examinations, and administering medications
• Discuss end of life preferences and advanced care planning
• Conduct consultations with sub-specialists as needed
• Implement timely and proactive discharge planning
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians
• Provide perioperative care for patients
• Deliver care to patients in critical and acute care settings in conformance with facility policies
• Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions, including leading code teams and rapid response teams
• Perform procedures such as abscess incision and drainage, thoracentesis, nasogastric tube insertion, reinsertion of gastric tube, fecal occult blood testing, paracentesis, placement of transurethral catheter, aspiration and injection of joints (excluding ankle and hip), injection of lateral epicondyle, and all ACLS procedures
• Manage removal of lines and tubes and perform lumbar punctures
