Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology Needed in Ohio

Our client in Ohio is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner for a 72-day assignment, offering 3x12 hour shifts per week with flexibility to choose between days or nights, requiring a minimum of 6 shifts per month. This role involves comprehensive care for critically ill premature and term neonates within a Level IV NICU setting, covering two NICUs with a total of 90 beds and providing advanced services such as ECMO, neonatal surgery, therapeutic hypothermia, and advanced respiratory support.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide 12-hour shifts, available for both days and nights.
• Independently care for 24-30 patients during night shifts.
• Cover the C4B and C4C NICUs, which together comprise 90 beds, within a 130-bed total facility.
• Deliver comprehensive care for critically ill premature and term neonates in a Level IV NICU.
• Perform intubation, UA/UV placement, and ventilator management (conventional and high frequency oscillation).
• Conduct arterial and venous blood drawing, urine catheterization, and lumbar punctures.
• Execute needle aspirations and chest tube placements.
• Participate in comprehensive neonatal services including ECMO, neonatal surgery, therapeutic hypothermia, and advanced respiratory support.
• Collaborate with board-certified neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, neonatal fellows, residents, and experienced NICU nursing staff.

• Staffing Mix: 8-9 APPs during the day, 3-4 APPs at night, with neonatologists in house 24/7, usually one fellow, comprehensive subspecialist backup, a Comprehensive Center for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, and a Fetal Center.
