Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Needed in Pennsylvania

We are seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for a 40-day assignment in Pennsylvania. This role involves working 4-8 shifts per month in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, with a mix of 12-hour day and 13-14-hour night shifts available. Responsibilities include providing acute care, managing patients, and performing procedures such as arterial, central venous, and chest tube placements.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide acute care within the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, working 12-hour AM and PM shifts.
• Manage a mix of daytime and nighttime shifts, with an emphasis on nights. Daytime shifts are 11.5-12 hours, and night shifts are typically 13-14 hours.
• Perform procedures including arterial, central venous, and chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation, lumbar punctures, and angiograms.
• Demonstrate comfort level with procedures like lines and tubes, even if surgical PAs perform most in the unit.
• Possess a comfort level with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs).
