We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for a 30-day assignment in Washington, starting Nov 24, 2024. This role involves 24-hour call with morning rounds in the nursery, providing coverage for deliveries, C-sections, and pediatric consults. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with routine inpatient procedures and contribute to sporadic but ongoing coverage needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide 24-hour pediatric hospitalist coverage
Deliver on-call support for deliveries, C-sections, and pediatric consults
Conduct morning rounds in the newborn nursery, typically managing 2-3 newborns
Attend all C-sections and deliveries
Facilitate transfer of complex or high-risk cases
Manage rare pediatric admissions from the ER (approximately 4-7 per month total)
Lead NRP codes
Perform routine inpatient procedures, including intubations and A-lines
Additional Information
Board Certifications: Pediatrics, Pediatric Hospital Medicine
EMR: Epic
Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association
Practice Setting: Call Only, Out of House Call
Call Schedule: 24-hour call with morning rounds in nursery; sporadic but ongoing needs for coverage, with specific dates including Nov 24, 2024 through Nov 30, 2024 and Dec 23, 2024 through Dec 28, 2024
Patients Per Day: 2-5 (newborns in nursery)
LOA: 30 Days
Staffing Mix: The team includes 1 NP and various support staff such as ER physicians, RNs, and OBs. Full support staff is available.
