Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry Needed in North Carolina

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry for a 40-day assignment in North Carolina. This role involves inpatient rounding and consults, working Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of approximately 20 inpatient unit patients and handle 0-4 daily consults, addressing conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide inpatient rounding and consultations
• Manage an average of 20 patients on the inpatient unit daily
• Handle 0-4 inpatient consults per day
• Address cases including schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse
• Occasionally manage seclusion or restraint situations, though these are not common

• Required Board Certification: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC)
• Other Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Staffing Mix: 1 other APP working alongside locum (rarely would be solo), with an MD on call
