We are seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Psychiatry for a 130-day assignment in Missouri. The ideal candidate will provide crucial psychiatric care in a state-of-the-art forensic inpatient setting, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This role involves overseeing 36 patients across two units, collaborating with a Nurse Practitioner, and managing caseloads efficiently with low admit and discharge rates, ensuring consistent, long-term patient relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide crucial psychiatric care in a dynamic and supportive environment within a state-of-the-art minimum security state hospital.
• Oversee care for 36 patients across two units, including a locked unit and a less restrictive cottage setting.
• Work alongside a Nurse Practitioner to manage caseloads efficiently.
• Manage low admit and discharge rates, typically 1-3 patients per month, allowing for consistent, long-term patient relationships.
• Complete weekly notes for the first 8 weeks post-admission, followed by monthly notes thereafter.
• Assist with guardianship processes when necessary and engage in various duties to ensure holistic patient support.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide cross-coverage for other units as needed.
• Work with patients adjudicated as Permanently Incompetent to Stand Trial (PIST) and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI).
