Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Addiction Medicine Physician Assistant for a 120-day assignment starting Jun 22, 2026. This full-time opportunity involves managing a consistent patient volume of 10-20 individuals daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, assisting with medication management, and performing new patient consults. The role focuses heavily on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and alcohol abuse, ensuring comprehensive patient care within the clinic setting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a patient volume consistently ranging from 10 to 20 patients per day.
  • Assist in medication management for patients.
  • Support clinic staff and patients throughout daily operations.
  • Conduct new patient consultations, typically lasting up to one hour, with an expectation of two per day.
  • Evaluate, prescribe, and manage care for patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Abuse Treatment.
  • Utilize primarily Suboxone® and long-acting MAT injectables; methadone is not part of this treatment.
  • Administer subcutaneous MAT injectables, such as Sublocade and Brixadi.
  • Manage basic psychiatric medication, focusing on antidepressant medicines for dual-diagnosis patients.
  • Review routine blood panels and toxicology screens as part of the comprehensive intake and monitoring process.


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certifications: Addiction Medicine, Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC).
