Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking a dedicated Addiction Medicine Physician for a 12-day assignment starting Jun 22, 2026. This role involves reviewing patient charts, assisting Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with questions, and being available by phone. You will work standard hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm, providing crucial support in a dynamic healthcare setting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review patient charts and provide assistance to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • Be available by phone for consultations and support.
  • Evaluate, prescribe, and manage care for patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Abuse Treatment through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), utilizing Suboxone® and long-acting MAT injectables. Please note: Methadone is not used in this practice.
  • Manage basic psychiatric medication, primarily focusing on antidepressant medicines for dual-diagnosis patients.
  • Review routine blood panels and toxicology screens, which are crucial components of the clinic's comprehensive intake and monitoring process.
  • Assist with patient volume, supporting Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who typically see 10 to 20 patients per day, capped at 15 to 20 maximum.
