Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Cardiology Critical Care Needed in MD

Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated Cardiology Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment in Maryland, starting Sep 14, 2026. This role involves 7am to 7pm shifts, focusing on managing the CVICU step down unit and providing critical patient care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage patients on the CVICU step down unit.
• Oversee post-cardiac and post-vascular surgery patients after stepping down from CVICU.
• Handle cases involving CABG and valve procedures.
• Support for pulling epicardial leads, with attending physician assistance available.
• Conduct in-house cardiac surgery consults, supported by permanent APPs.
• Collaborate with the attending physician who rounds with APPs from 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
• Access in-house surgeons as needed for patient care.
• Utilize cardiac surgery experience to work effectively with the cardiac surgery team.
• No operating room work required.
