We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 48-day assignment in Ohio, commencing Oct 5, 2024. This role involves a dynamic schedule, including Monday-Friday shifts with night call and some weekend responsibilities, focused on 7a-5p rounding or 5p-7a OR night call. The selected professional will provide expert inpatient care for routine cardiothoracic cases, such as CABG, valves, complex aorta procedures, and advanced vein harvesting techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts.
Perform 7a-5p rounding or 5p-7a call duties.
Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta procedures, lobectomy cases, and VATS.
Handle occasional ECMO cases; no advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
Conduct vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.

Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Facility requires local providers to be within a 30-minute range of the hospital for call shifts; non-local providers will be accommodated in a nearby hotel.
Approximately a 7% chance of being called in for OR shifts, with most calls manageable over the phone.
Expect to be called in roughly once every 10 shifts.

Call Schedule: Out of house call, 5pm - 7am
Patients per Day: 1-4
LOA: 48 Days
Staffing Mix: Four surgeons and four full-time surgical APPs, supported by one part-time APP and one new graduate APP in training, covering two campuses.
