We are seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 75-day assignment in Ohio. The role involves a dynamic schedule, including Monday through Friday shifts with occasional night and weekend call. Responsibilities encompass day rounding or 12-hour night call, managing routine cardiothoracic cases such as CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy, and VATS, alongside occasional ECMO, and performing vein harvesting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform 12-hour night call or day rounding shifts, either 7 AM to 5 PM for rounding or 5 PM to 7 AM for call.
Manage routine cardiothoracic cases, including CABG, valves, complex aorta, lobectomy, and VATS.
Handle occasional ECMO cases; no advanced heart failure, VAD, or transplants.
Conduct vein harvesting, utilizing endoscopic techniques with Maquet Hemopro 2.
Adhere to call requirements, including being within a 30-minute range from the hospital if local or utilizing nearby hotel accommodations.
Maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Call Schedule: Out of house call; 7% chance of being called in; most calls can be handled over the phone.
Patients per day: 1-4
LOA: 75 Days
Staffing Mix: 4 surgeons and 4 full-time surgical Advanced Practice Providers, along with 1 part-time APP and 1 new graduate APP in training, covering 2 campuses.
