Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon for a 120-day assignment in VA, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This leadership role involves overseeing the Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery program at a teaching hospital, combining clinical practice with administrative responsibilities. The schedule includes 8-hour shifts plus call, covering a diverse caseload of adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery program as Medical Director.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical practice and leadership, overseeing the CVT service line.
  • Perform adult cardiac cases including CABG, valve procedures/repairs, TAVR, Maze procedures, Pacemakers, and structural heart cases.
  • Manage thoracic cases such as VATS, lung biopsies, lobectomies, and pneumonectomies.
  • Conduct vascular procedures including carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm/dissection repair, peripheral vascular interventions, dialysis access, and endovascular interventions.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Vascular Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • EMR: Epic.
  • Work within a teaching hospital environment.
