Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Critical Care Medicine Needed in Virginia

We are seeking a Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for an inpatient assignment in Virginia. This 42-day assignment features night shifts, typically 7pm to 7am, with schedules ranging from 7 to 14 shifts per month. The Physician Assistant will independently manage critically ill patients and perform essential critical care procedures within the inpatient unit.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in an inpatient setting.
• Manage ARDS, respiratory failure, and ventilator settings.
• Handle cardiovascular resuscitation and manage hemodynamic instability.
• Address multi-organ dysfunction.
• Perform procedures including intubation, central venous catheter placement, chest tube placement, and arterial lines.
• Work autonomously with intensivist backup available on call.

• Requirements: Case log documentation showing a minimum of 15 intubations, 15 central lines, and 15 arterial lines within the past 12 months.
