Locum Tenens Physician - Critical Care Medicine Needed in Virginia

We are seeking a Critical Care Medicine Physician for a 42-day assignment in Virginia. The role involves 7-14 shifts per month, primarily 7 AM to 7 PM with potential for overnight call. This physician will manage critically ill patients, perform essential procedures such as intubation and central venous catheter placement, and oversee ventilator management within an inpatient setting for our client.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage critically ill patients in an inpatient critical care unit.
• Perform essential procedural skills including intubation, central venous catheter placement, and chest tube placement.
• Manage ARDS/respiratory failure and ventilator support.
• Oversee cardiovascular resuscitation and management of hemodynamic instability.
• Manage multi-organ dysfunction.
• Provide case log documentation of inpatient care encounters for a minimum of 50 patients in the critical care unit during the past 12 months.
• Provide case log documentation showing a minimum of 15 intubations, 15 central lines, and 15 arterial lines within the past 12 months.
• Work independently with an Intensivist available for backup call.
