Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California, commencing Aug 17, 2026. This role requires coverage for 12-hour shifts, days and nights, where the physician will manage a patient load of 2-3 per hour, working alongside a dedicated scribe and ER advanced practice providers.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with a designated scribe and ER APPs during 12-hour shifts.
• See 2-3 patients per hour.
• Manage ER admissions, stabilizing and consulting with specialists on staff.
• Treat minor injuries, illnesses, and minor trauma (major trauma cases are transferred).
• Address stroke patients, with Neuro on-call support.
• Utilize ultrasound for diagnostic purposes in the ER (the physician is not responsible for official reads).

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine is required.
