Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine Needed in Maine

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 5-day assignment in Maine, starting Nov 25, 2024. This role involves managing varied day and night shifts within a Level III Trauma Facility, handling a combined clinic and emergency department with a significant annual patient volume and performing essential ED procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate within a Level III Trauma Facility.
• Manage an Emergency Department with an annual volume of 20,000 cases.
• Handle a combined clinic and ED setting, with 16,000 ED-based volume and 4,000 clinic-based volume.
• Provide varied coverage with APP support.
• Perform general ED procedures including intubation, ventilation management, and placement of lines.
• Practice independent emergency medicine; urgent care and family medicine experience is not applicable for this role.
• Adapt to seasonal patient acuity variations, with high volume/low acuity in summers and low volume/high acuity in winters.
• Collaborate with specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, OBGYN, Intensive Care, and Radiology.
