Locum Tenens Physician - Emergency Medicine Needed in Maine

Our client in Maine is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team. This role involves managing 24-hour shifts, with a commitment of 5 or more shifts per month, providing critical care in a community access hospital setting. Responsibilities include stabilizing and treating a wide range of emergency conditions, from common illnesses and injuries like RSV, stomach pain, chest pain, and broken bones, to more complex cases involving substance abuse, mental health crises, and accident-related injuries.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide emergency medical care to patients in a community access hospital.
• Manage cases including respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), stomach pain, chest pain, lacerations, and fractures.
• Address common conditions such as colds and flu.
• Stabilize and treat patients presenting with substance abuse issues or mental health crises.
• Assess and manage injuries from accidents, ensuring stabilization for further care if needed.

Additional Information

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Additional Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).
• EMR: Meditech EHR with M Modal Dictation.
• Setting: Outpatient (Clinic Only).
• Patient Volume: 25-30 patients per day.
• Staffing Mix: APP coverage during peak hours (12-12).
