Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician Assistant for an exciting 60-day assignment in California, starting Jul 20, 2026. This role involves providing essential primary care within an FQHC setting, covering a sabbatical, primarily focusing on adult patients (excluding pregnant patients) with some pediatric physicals as needed. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, with Fridays split between 8:30am-12:30pm for telehealth and 12:30pm-4:00pm for other duties. You will manage a variety of cases, from acute illnesses to chronic conditions, within a rural health environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide primary care services within an FQHC, addressing typical rural health challenges
  • Manage an average of three or more complaints per patient visit
  • Cover for a provider on sabbatical, ensuring continuity of care
  • Primarily see adult patients, excluding pregnant patients
  • Conduct pediatric physicals and well-child checks, particularly during school enrollment periods
  • Diagnose and treat common conditions such as cold, cough, and flu
  • Manage chronic diseases including hypertension and diabetes
  • Provide care for vulnerable populations, including homeless and LGBTQ patients
  • Perform annual check-ups and other typical FQHC primary care duties
