Locum Tenens Physician - Family Practice Needed in California

Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for a 140-day assignment. This role involves a flexible schedule of either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, complemented by 1-2 weekends of out-of-house call. The Physician will deliver comprehensive care including newborn exams, prenatal care, high-risk OB, and various in-clinic procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform vaginal deliveries, including c-section deliveries (with or without vacuum assistance).
• Conduct D&C, high-risk deliveries, Nexplanon insertions/removals, and IUD placements/removals.
• Administer pap smears, circumcisions, and vasectomies.
• Execute colposcopies and LEEP procedures.
• Provide newborn exams and comprehensive prenatal care for women.
• Manage a patient panel encompassing high-risk obstetrics, diabetes, paps, Nexplanon, STD panels, and well-child visits.

• Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Setting: Clinic and Call
• Call Schedule: Out of house call, 1-2 weekends per month from Friday 5pm to Monday 7am
• Patients Per Day: 12-18
• LOA: 140 Days
• Staffing Mix: Solo provider when on call; in clinic, supported by assigned nurses, FNPs in urgent care, and another MD down the hall.
