Locum Tenens Physician - Forensic Pathologist Needed in LA

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Pathologist for a 180-day assignment in Louisiana, starting Oct 5, 2026. The Physician will work 8am to 5pm shifts, conducting autopsies and medical examinations on deceased patients. This role involves managing an average of one case per day, three cases per week, primarily focusing on homicides, suicides, and vehicular accidents, ensuring thorough and professional investigations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform autopsies and medical examinations on deceased patients.
• Investigate various forensic pathology cases, including suicides, homicides, and car accidents.
• Handle minimal natural cause cases and slip and fall investigations.
• Manage a caseload of approximately one case per day, or three cases per week.
• Provide potential testimony related to case findings.

• Typical shift hours are 8am to 5pm.
• The anticipated patient volume is 1 case per day, 3 cases per week.
