Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology Needed in NY

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment in New York. This role involves a Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm schedule, focusing on evaluating and diagnosing patients' gastrointestinal conditions, educating them on care, managing medications, and collaborating with the broader healthcare team to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Evaluate and diagnose patients’ medical and gastrointestinal conditions and coordinate referrals to other specialists when needed.
• Educate patients and families about preventive care, diagnoses, treatments, and medications.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and provide appropriate medical and emergency interventions.
• Manage complex or high-priority cases in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Accurately document assessments, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, referrals, outcomes, and patient education in accordance with regulatory and evidence-based standards.
• Ensure documentation supports accurate coding and billing.
• Participate in peer and physician review processes and follow quality and clinical care protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with the broader healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality care.
