Job Description

Our client in West Virginia is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist for a 24-day assignment starting Jul 17, 2026. This critical role involves weekend coverage, including 24-hour call for two weekends per month, from Friday 8 AM to Monday 8 AM. The Physician will manage ED calls, inpatient consults, emergent procedures, new consults, and assist APPs, addressing an unexpected absence in the GI department.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive weekend coverage from Friday 8 AM to Monday 8 AM.
  • Manage 24-hour ED call for gastrointestinal emergencies.
  • Conduct inpatient consults for GI patients.
  • Perform emergent gastrointestinal procedures as required.
  • Evaluate and manage approximately 10 new consults daily.
  • Collaborate with and assist weekend APP coverage.
  • Perform a couple of scopes daily.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology required.
  • EMR: Epic
  • Must hold a current West Virginia medical license or an IMLC.
