Locum Tenens Physician - General Diagnostic Radiology with Mammography Needed in Michigan

Our client is seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in General Diagnostic Radiology with Mammography for a 182-day assignment in MI. This role requires coverage 2-3 days per week, 2-4 weeks per month, with daily hours from 8a-4p. The Physician will provide on-site radiologist coverage for screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI, along with performing image-guided procedures such as biopsies and aspirations. Expertise in BI-RADS and MQSA requirements is essential, focusing on managing same-day diagnostic workups and engaging in strong patient-facing communication.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide fellowship-trained on-site radiologist coverage.
• Support screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.
• Perform image-guided procedures including biopsies, localizations, and aspirations.
• Demonstrate high knowledge of BI-RADS and MQSA requirements.
• Maintain detail-oriented reporting standards.
• Manage same-day diagnostic workups effectively.
• Utilize strong patient-facing communication skills to discuss results and procedures directly with patients.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, clinic-based environment.
• Collaborate closely with technologists, nurses, surgeons, and oncology teams.
• Manage a workload breakdown of 45-55% Screening Mammography (approximately 35-40 per shift), 25-35% Diagnostics, and 15-25% Procedures.
