Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Surgeon for a 90-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Sep 29, 2026. This locum tenens physician role involves performing a variety of general surgery procedures, including adult and pediatric cases, laparoscopic surgeries such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy, and preferred trauma surgery across multiple facilities.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform general surgery procedures for adult patients, with preferred experience in pediatric cases.
  • Handle preferred trauma surgery cases.
  • Conduct required laparoscopic surgeries including appendectomy and cholecystectomy.
  • Perform preferred laparoscopic procedures such as hernioplasty and Nissen fundoplication.
  • Utilize preferred skills in ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement.
  • Address preferred liver surgery cases.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in General Surgery is required.
  • The EMR system utilized is Epic.
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days.
