Locum Tenens Physician - Internal Medicine Needed in MO

Job Description

We are seeking an Internal Medicine Physician for a 60-day assignment in Missouri. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. This role focuses on providing comprehensive geriatric and preventative primary care to a dedicated patient panel, with a primary goal of minimizing hospital admissions. The ideal candidate will be organized, tech-savvy, and adept at accurate coding and charting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive preventative geriatric primary care, with a focus on keeping elderly patients out of the hospital.
• Manage a diverse patient panel, including high, emerging, and low-risk cases.
• Treat common geriatric conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, CHF, CAD, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Address respiratory issues like COPD/asthma, as well as CKD and thyroid disorders.
• Manage osteoarthritis and chronic pain.
• Evaluate and manage dementia/cognitive decline, falls, mobility issues, and osteoporosis.
• Address acute illnesses and infections.
• Conduct preventive care and annual wellness visits.
• Perform medication management tailored to geriatric patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient charting and coding.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and technical proficiency.
