Locum Tenens Physician - Interventional Cardiologist Needed in CA

Job Description

Our client in California is seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist for an 80-day assignment beginning Oct 5, 2026. This dynamic role involves a blend of 24-hour call coverage, including weeknights and weekends, in conjunction with Monday-Friday 8am-5pm clinic and cath lab appointments. The Physician will manage inpatient care, handle STEMI cases, and perform emergency interventional cardiology procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide comprehensive interventional cardiology care, including inpatient coverage, call responsibilities, outpatient clinic, and cath lab appointments.
• Manage 24/7 interventional call and general call coverage.
• Conduct Echo, stress, and EKG reads.
• Be proficient in handling STEMI cases and performing emergency interventional cardiology procedures such as stents, catheterization, angioplasty, and balloon pumps.
• Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, with an average volume of 370 diagnostic and 136 interventional cases per year.

• Setting: Mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
• Call Schedule: 24-hour call, including weeknights and weekends. Potential for 1 week on, 1 week off schedule.
• Patient Volume: Typical volume includes 2-4 STEMIs per day, with an annual average of 370 diagnostic and 136 interventional cases.
• Staffing Mix: Supported by two Advanced Practice Providers in the clinic.
