Locum Tenens Physician - OB/GYN Needed in New York

Our client in New York is seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for an 84-day assignment focused on 24-hour out-of-house call coverage. This role involves managing emergency deliveries, C-sections, circumcisions, and various emergency gynecological surgeries, with a focus on deliveries at 36+ weeks gestation and no high-risk cases. The schedule typically involves a minimum 7-day stretch, with weekend call supported by a CNM.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide 24-hour out of house call coverage, with a minimum 7-day stretch.
• Manage weekend call coverage, typically supported by a CNM on first call.
• Handle emergency deliveries and C-sections.
• Perform circumcisions.
• Oversee deliveries at 36+ weeks gestation, excluding high-risk cases which are referred to a main campus.
• Conduct emergency gynecological surgeries, including torsions, ectopics, and D&C procedures.

• Required Board Certifications: Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Other Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• Setting: Call Only
• Call Schedule: Out of House Call, 24 hour coverage from Monday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM.
• Patients per day: Approximately 400 deliveries per year; Office patients ~20 per day.
• LOA: 84 Days
• Staffing Mix: Anesthesia reports within 30 minutes. Team includes 1 OBGYN, 1 FM/OB, and 2 CNMW, with subspecialty backup available. Complex cases can be referred to a sister facility.
