Job Description

Our client in Tennessee is seeking an Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join their team for a 365-day assignment starting Sep 7, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive occupational health and primary care during clinic hours, coupled with essential night and 24/hr weekend on-call responsibilities for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will manage a mix of work-related injuries, acute care needs, and preventative services.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide clinic coverage for occupational health and primary care needs, Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm.
  • Take night call and 24/hr weekend on-call for after-hours events.
  • Respond to after-hours calls, drive to the clinic, and perform injury assessments.
  • Document assessments and coordinate care with the permanent Nurse Practitioner.
  • Perform pre-employment physicals, including URI, eye tests, drug screens, grip tests, and musculoskeletal evaluations.
  • Manage work-related injuries, focusing on basic first aid and OSHA compliance.
  • Deliver preventative primary care services, including management of hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
  • Address acute care issues such as sore throats, scrapes, cuts, rashes, COPD, cough, cold, and flu.
  • Perform procedures such as sutures for non-work-related injuries.
  • Conduct hearing exams and Cleowave tests.

  • Board Certification: Family Medicine.
  • EMR System: Epic.
  • Requires local residency and significant occupational health experience, including OSHA knowledge.
