Locum Tenens Physician - Ophthalmologist Needed in North Carolina

Our client in North Carolina seeks a skilled Ophthalmologist for a 7-day assignment starting Nov 20, 2026. This role involves 24-hour call coverage, focusing on evaluating hospital and emergency department consults, including the evaluation and surgical treatment of trauma cases. The ideal Physician will manage a caseload of approximately 5-8 patients per day while providing essential ophthalmological services.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Evaluate all hospital and emergency department consults.
• Provide evaluation and surgical treatment for ocular trauma cases.
• Perform procedures including repair of ruptured globe, repair of eyelid lacerations, and removal of corneal foreign bodies.
• Adhere to 24-hour call schedule requirements.

• Board Certifications: Ophthalmology.
• EMR: Epic.
• Setting: Call Only.
• Call Schedule: Out of House Call; provider must be within 20 minutes of the medical center while on call.
• Patients per day: 5-8.
• LOA: 7 days.
