Locum Tenens Physician - Pediatric Anesthesiologist Needed in California

Our client in CA is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Anesthesiologist for an 84-day assignment, with assignments beginning Oct 5, 2024. The role involves M-F shifts along with weekend call, requiring a minimum of 7 days per month, and focuses on administering anesthesia to pediatric patients, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Administer anesthesia to pediatric patients undergoing surgery or other medical procedures
• Monitor patients vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities
• Provide guidance and support to other healthcare professionals as needed

• Setting: Inpatient
• Call Schedule: Inhouse call, including day, night, and 24-hour backup shifts. Locum will join the call schedule after two weeks.
• Patient Volume: 6-12 patients per day
• LOA: 84 Days
• Scope of Practice: Full scope pediatric anesthesia, encompassing moderate, deep, and general anesthesia for pediatric surgical cases, neonates, and children under 2. Includes non-OR/diagnostic procedures within a stand-alone children’s hospital with NICU and PICU units. This is an independent practice model.
