Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Needed in PA

Job Description

We are actively seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 40-day assignment in Pennsylvania, commencing Dec 14, 2026. This vital role involves working a mix of 12-hour day and 13-14-hour night shifts within a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, focusing on direct patient care and critical procedures. The client seeks a provider who is acute care certified and comfortable with a variety of specialized interventions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide acute care within a 38-bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage a patient load of 4-8 patients per APP during shifts.
• Work 12-hour day shifts (typically 6:30am-6pm or 6:30pm) and 13-14-hour night shifts (typically 5pm-5:30pm to 7am-7:30am the following morning), with an emphasis on night shifts.
• Demonstrate comfort and experience with procedures including arterial, central venous, and chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation, and lumbar punctures.
• Possess a comfort level with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs).
