Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric Endocrinology Needed in Maryland

We are seeking a Pediatric Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner for our client in MD, for a 364-day assignment. This role involves a schedule of four 8-hour days per week, typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm. The Nurse Practitioner will primarily provide outpatient pediatric diabetes clinic coverage, managing patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, adjusting insulin doses, and prescribing various GLP-1, SGLT2, and insulin therapies while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide outpatient Pediatric Diabetes Clinic coverage
• See pediatric patients with Type 1 & 2 Diabetes and prediabetes
• Adjust insulin dose for pediatric patients
• Prescribe and manage GLP-1 medications, SGLT2 inhibitors, and Insulin therapies
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including Nutrition, Social Work, Behavioral Psychology, and the Pediatric Endocrine team
• Manage Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and Prediabetes
• Address other endocrine disorders as appropriate
• Make knowledgeable insulin dose adjustments
• Conduct Diabetes screenings
