We are seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Pediatric Hospitalist care for an essential 30-day assignment in Ohio. This role involves 8-10 shifts per month, working 24-hour on/off rotations with no consecutive shifts. You will perform in-house shifts, rounding on newborns in the Level 2 special care nursery, conducting procedures such as circumcisions, intubation, and vent management, attending high-risk deliveries and C-sections, stabilizing/transporting newborns, rounding on the Peds floor, and providing medical checks and H&P for Peds Psych patients.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide 24-hour in-house shifts from 8am to 8am.
Round on newborns within the Level 2 special care nursery.
Perform procedures including circumcisions, intubation, and vent management.
Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections.
Stabilize and transport newborns as needed.
Conduct rounds on the Pediatric floor.
Complete medical checks and History and Physicals for Pediatric Psychiatry patients.
Manage ventilation.
Perform circumcisions.
Conduct intubations.
Perform Chest Tube Placement (very rare).
Execute Lumbar Puncture.
Administer Surfactant.
Perform Arterial Blood Draws.
Conduct Needle Decompression.
Manage CPAP.
Additional Information
Board Certification: Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Required Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
EMR System: Epic.
Setting: Inpatient.
Call Schedule: Inhouse call.
Patient Volume: Approximately 3-6 babies in Special Care Nursery, 4 well babies, 2-4 pediatrics patients, and 1-2 medical checks/H&P for peds psych patients daily. The facility averages 900 deliveries per year.
LOA: 30 days.
