Job Description

We are seeking a Psychiatrist Physician for a 120-day assignment in California, starting Sep 14, 2026. This role involves comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and patient education, with a flexible schedule covering 36 to 40 hours per week.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish treatment plans.
  • Perform medication management, dosage adjustments, and ongoing follow-up visits.
  • Assess laboratory results, diagnostic testing, and medical history to guide treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and care coordinators in an integrated care model.
  • Provide crisis assessments and determine the need for higher levels of psychiatric care or specialty referrals.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and preventive behavioral health strategies.
  • Document encounters in the EMR while maintaining accurate, timely medical records.
  • Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and multidisciplinary case discussions.
  • Assist with development and refinement of behavioral health policies, protocols, and clinical workflows.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry required.

  • Experience managing a diverse range of psychiatric conditions including mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders, as well as complex psychosocial needs of Native American and underserved rural populations.
