Locum Tenens Physician - Psychiatrist Needed in California

Our client in California is seeking a Psychiatrist for a 196-day assignment, offering 24-32 hours between Monday and Friday, flexible for three to four full days or shorter shifts. This role primarily involves telehealth with patients accessing services from the facility, multidisciplinary team interaction, and full service partnership, with a requirement to be onsite one week every two months. Responsibilities include one-hour new evaluations and 30-minute follow-ups.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct almost all telehealth sessions, with patients accessing services from the facility
• Participate in multidisciplinary team interactions and a full service partnership model
• Be able to go onsite one week every two months for in-person duties
• Perform one-hour new evaluations
• Conduct 30-minute follow-up appointments
• Attend daily team meetings from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM
• Manage documentation with dedicated time built into the schedule
• Provide care for serious mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders, and work with impaired and impoverished populations
• Address dual diagnosis patients, primarily involving meth or marijuana, trauma, and experiencing homelessness
• Ensure all notes are submitted on the same day
