Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - Thoracic Needed in MA

Job Description

We are seeking a Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 90-day assignment in MA, starting Oct 19, 2026. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am, Monday through Sunday. The Physician Assistant will primarily manage post-operative and ICU patients on the floor, perform history and physicals for transferred patients, and may serve as a first responder for codes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage 15-25 patients per 12-hour night shift.
• Provide care for patients on the floor, including those from the Step Down OR (post-op) or ICU.
• Perform History and Physicals (H&Ps) for patients transferred from other hospitals.
• Potentially serve as a first responder for code events until the fellow arrives.
• Perform thoracic surgery procedures such as chest tube, blake drain, and pigtail management.
• Manage ABG, NGT, G, and J feeding tubes.
• Work solo, utilizing a fellow as a resource who covers the ER, performs rounds, and handles consults.
