Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Trauma Surgeon Physician to join our client's team in Maryland. This urgent 4-day assignment begins on Aug 14, 2026. The Physician will provide 12 and 24-hour call coverage with shifts from 7am-7pm or 7am-7am, specifically covering August 14, 16, 18, and 20. The role involves responding to trauma activations, evaluating incoming trauma patients, determining operative versus non-operative management, performing emergency surgeries as needed, and managing patients in the trauma or surgical ICU for primarily blunt and limited penetrating trauma cases.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 12 and 24 hour call coverage
  • Respond to trauma activations in the emergency department
  • Evaluate incoming trauma patients
  • Determine operative versus non-operative management
  • Perform emergency surgeries as needed
  • Round on admitted trauma patients
  • Consult with orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and critical care teams
  • Manage patients in the trauma ICU or surgical ICU when applicable
  • Primarily treat blunt trauma cases (car accidents, crush injuries, falls) and limited penetrating trauma
  • Provide emergency general surgery call
