Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 78-day assignment with our client in Indiana, starting Dec 4, 2026. This role involves working 12-hour shifts at urgent care facilities, managing a diverse range of acute conditions from respiratory and gastrointestinal issues to minor infections and injuries requiring procedures such as sutures and basic imaging.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage respiratory infections including colds, flu, bronchitis, sinus infections, and sore throats.
  • Address gastrointestinal issues such as mild stomach viruses, food poisoning, and dehydration.
  • Treat infections like urinary tract infections (UTIs), ear infections, and pink eye (conjunctivitis).
  • Handle skin concerns including minor rashes, insect bites, and localized skin infections.
  • Assess and treat sprains and strains, as well as minor cuts requiring stitches or staples.
  • Manage minor or small-area first- and second-degree burns.
  • Evaluate simple, non-displaced fractures or broken fingers and toes.
  • Perform basic imaging for sprains or simple breaks using X-rays.
  • Conduct rapid tests for strep, flu, COVID-19, or basic urine tests.
  • Administer treatments such as tetanus shots and basic wound care.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Urgent Care is required.
  • Experience with the Cerner EMR system is necessary.
  • The provider will see a wide variety of urgent care cases, from respiratory and gastrointestinal issues to minor trauma, infections, and dermatological concerns.
