Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Urgent Care Needed in NC

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 48-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, commencing Jul 29, 2026. This role requires an independent provider comfortable with 12-hour weekday and 8-hour weekend shifts, managing over 40 patients per shift within an urgent care setting that focuses on acute care and common urgent presentations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work autonomously within a provider, MA, and front desk support model.
• Manage high patient volumes, seeing 40 or more patients per 12-hour shift.
• Address urgent care presentations including acute illnesses, colds, coughs, and flu.
• Perform minor procedures such as incision and drainage (I&D) and suturing lacerations.
• Provide care primarily to the adult patient population.
• Accurately read and interpret EKGs and x-rays.
