Job Description

Our client in Illinois is actively seeking a skilled Wound Care Physician Assistant for a focused 40-day assignment, commencing Jul 13, 2026. This vital role will involve performing comprehensive wound assessments, diagnosing and developing treatment plans for acute and chronic wounds, conducting debridement procedures, and managing diverse wound types. The typical schedule will be 8am-5pm, providing essential care within a collaborative environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for acute and chronic wounds
  • Conduct wound debridement procedures (sharp, selective, and mechanical, depending on training and privileges)
  • Manage diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, and traumatic wounds
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including vascular studies, wound cultures, and imaging
  • Apply advanced wound care therapies (Wound VAC, Skin substitutes and grafts, Compression therapy, Advanced dressings)
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other specialists
  • Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention and treatment
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and coding
