Job Description

Our client in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Physician for a 40-day assignment starting Jul 13, 2026. This role involves comprehensive wound assessments, developing treatment plans, and performing essential procedures such as wound debridement. The typical schedule for this position is 8am-5pm, focusing on advanced wound care therapies and patient education.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments and diagnose acute and chronic wounds
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct wound debridement procedures, including sharp, selective, and mechanical methods
  • Manage a wide range of wound types, such as diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, and traumatic wounds
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including vascular studies, wound cultures, and imaging
  • Apply advanced wound care therapies, including Wound VAC, skin substitutes and grafts, compression therapy, and specialized dressings
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists
  • Educate patients and caregivers on effective wound prevention and treatment strategies
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure proper coding
